The North Wales Guitar retreats offers two principle tutors, Jim Bazley & Skeet Williams. They are joined by two world class players, Chris Woods and Gary Lutton for their residential weekends. This is to ensure a rich variety of playing styles and techniques can be covered. We aim to cater for all levels and abilities. This is why we carefully select tutors who can work with a variety of abilities but can also tailor lesson plans around their students. Classes will be tailored to suit your skills and participants will be grouped accordingly.

Skeet Williams
Skeet is an experienced and passionate music tutor and musician. He currently splits his time between performing and tutoring guitar. Skeet believes the art of teaching is inspiring the student to constantly strive to improve and to have self-belief. One of Skeet's students commented; ‘As a student I can tell you he has the patience of a saint and the skills to identify what you need to work on and how to do it...’

Jim Bazley
Jim has been playing guitar since he was 6 years old, starting with years of classical guitar training and turning to finger style in his 20’s. He now regularly performs across the UK and Europe.

Dave Alexander

Dave has been playing at a professional level since the 1980s, primarily in jazz bands but also playing pop, rock, reggae and world music. He has appeared at jazz festivals in the U.S.A., Canada, St.Lucia and Europe.
Since training to teach in 1999 he has been a guitar teacher for the Wrexham Music Service and at Moreton Hall School since 2010.
His teaching style is to introduce technique and theory via the songs his pupils want to learn, which leads him to research all kinds of material, from modern folk to Chinese pop. Above all, learning the guitar should be fun!
For this course he will be focusing on theory and it’s direct bearing on the sounds we love to hear.
